However, as I approach my 65th birthday, I suddenly find that the government has ALREADY a mandate in place that I buy a product: Medicare. When I hit 65, I will be forced to pay a monthly premium for Medicare whether I want it or not. Furthermore, BECAUSE I will now be on Medicare my health insurance company, which I can afford and am perfectly happy with, will no longer insure me and if my doctor does not wish to work for the ridiculous restrictions placed upon him by the government's scheme, I must fine another one who does. BLEAH. Thank God for our federal overlords. What a wonderful essay, and spot on. My friend is a terrible drunk who cannot aford insurance after totaling 5 cars (a preexisting condition).
