Unemployment Down, But Outlook Is Iffy

“The U.S. job market strengthened in the second half of 2011, and added 200,000 jobs in December while the unemployment rate fell to 8.5% from 8.6% a month earlier.” (USA Today)

“Indications are that the nation’s gloomy jobs picture continues to brighten, but experts disagree on two crucial points: the pace of improvement and whether the recent gain in momentum will continue through 2012.” (Washington Post)

Uncertainty bred by intervention continues to take its toll.
