  1. A simple look into our recent past ,Prohibition :shows the lunacy of the governments position. It also shows that years of propaganda by government about the issue have swayed many Americans into believing that the “War on drugs” is worthwhile.I say repeating past failed programs with the expectation of a different result is INSANITY.We spend billions we do not have and the results of where the money went are similar to our war in Afganastan,The moneies gone and we have Nothing to show for except the government (asking for)No,telling us they are going to spend more money. The gangs and corruption in the countries we fight this war on drugs in is a direct result of our intervention into their governments affairs. If we trully want to reduce drug use and the wasteful spending then LEGALIZE and TAX the production, distibution and use like we do for alcohol and cigarettes. At any rate it will remove our abusive influence on other countries and is a plus for our treasury and security as a nation. As the largest importer of illicit drugs we would also be stemming the flow of cash that this government created black market sends to these countries in addition to the governments military spending in them.
