Issuing new money to its “selected traders” only, gaining its value from the existing dollars of American working people and the resulting inflation bloating the asset values of the rich.

Excellent article Robert.

But, perhaps the king subsidy of all, which you alluded to with gov. debt, is the Federal Reserve money creation process.

Issuing new money to its "selected traders" only, gaining its value from the existing dollars of American working people and the resulting inflation bloating the asset values of the rich.

All done in relative secrecy and under the guise of "monitoring the money supply". That takes the cake!

@ Dirk "middle class"? You mean working class I think, why can't you call it that? Is it because in America you'd accused of being a communist, or is that really the vocabulary you're limited to? The actual "middle class" has never really constituted the majority anywhere. They're the doctors, lawyers, accomplished IT professionals, certain tradespeople etc; the "cream" between working class and ruling class. People's who's education, family cultural capital and inherited assets have enabled them to establish passive incomes essentially derived from the working class through investment. They are not dependent on the sale of their labor by the hour from week to week, month to month; a hand to mouth survival. The lines are unclear, those who benefit most from social stratification have the power and motivation to obscure and vary it's functioning.

The answer to this question: “If the free market is so good, why did the government need to take over airline security?” is that the politically correct lawyers would sue United or American if their own internal security denied boarding to a recently clean shaven Muslim who bought a one-way ticket with cash, because they (the airline) deemed that person a security risk. Even restaurants say "we reserve the right to deny service" - but don't let an airline do that. (Warning, side rant, or heaven forbid, charge a morbidly obese person two fairs for taking up two seats).

Governments always become instruments of plunder for the rich. When they advocate sharing the wealth, they do not mean sharing THEIR wealth, they mean taking more from the middle class. If the middle class is able to be bled without being bled dry, then they lessen the risk of revolt.
