It’s the same with dryers now. In my condo, the new dryers require 2 paid cycles to dry a load. And you can’t just pay for two at the same time. So now people have to work harder in the carbon-burning economy to earn the added cost, and it takes twice as much of their time to finish the task.

Higher arbitrary prices and more time = efficiency and saved energy?

I don’t think so.
