I came upon this web page when performing a search in an attempt to find out whether or not the patriot act applies to "freemen" also known as "sovereign citizens" "on-the-land." While I did not get the answer to my question, it disappointed me to see that there was ONE POST thus far to what you had to say. Not only were the experiences that you shared disheartening, but my first thought was that the type of people most likely to post replies would be capable of some measure of independent thought HOWEVER, in light of the patriot act and our default designation of "enemies" of our own country, may choose silence. I am angry. Angry that there is such a magnificent vehicle for access to information (a/k/a the internet) but, as many other things in life such as food, sex and money, have become so inundated with bad information, some accidental and some quite deliberate, that GETTING TO THE TRUTH of a thing has become very, very difficult. Ayn Rand, champion of objectivism, stressed that we CAN know a thing and that we MUST NOT use our "gut" senses to arrive at that knowledge, but rather, we must apply rationality. But, if you have no point of reference, methodical direction becomes a nullity. I still intend to look for my answer(s) - but before closing I wish to remind all those who read these lines (whether they choose to post or not) pay attention to BOTH rationality and their gut sense. Can't you feel that something very big and very ugly is coming. We all have differing ideas on what it is and what it ain't - but we probably all can agree that silence will not stop it...

Gary Barnett: Hidden Threat. I suspected the big-brother spy stuff for years and got poopooed from my (ex)brokerage step-son. Being talked down to did not ease my fear of big-brother. I suspected the same holds true of the banks I do business with. I've gotten so paranoid about the Patriot Act spys, I've gone to using cash to buy my groceries least the government interfears with what and how much I buy and eat. I'm pretty sure the banks lets them know when I ask for a few $1000 in a bank envelope every few months, too. If I could just find a way for them to stop opening my first class mail.. Nothing is sacred. All is lost. Open season on Americans. Hunting season.
