In the end, one must recognize that good entrepreneurs and managers have never needed government officials or business consultants to help them figure out that pollution and waste are both inefficient and expensive. There has never been any contradiction between doing well financially and environmentally ^^^ at the same time.
I have to say this, to the last sentence one must add, ^for good entrepreneurs and managers, of which there are hardly any at all!!^
If the motive is short term profit, long term problems or even potential positive effects, will not matter one whit to the average capitalist. So yeah it is stupid to waste and squander, but we always have and always will, unless regulations or government stops us. What is the choice? Corporate or Govt.
