My mother was born in 1921. She feared the unrestrained power of the government on liberty. Even word of mouth complaints of abuse of power was said in hushed tones. There were spies and government monitors watching and reporting what was Constitutionally allowable. As a child I recall her admonishment to say little about what we hear least we ourselves become the target of that unbridled fury of stormtroopers by other names. In 1954 I watched her orchestrate a 'milk' boycott when overnight the price went up to unaffordable for most of the families who bought it. It was something to watch in the eyes of a ten year old girl as the dairy had to buy back the milk from the groceries and dump it out. The price went 2c lower than original. Price gouging was over in two weeks when mothers just didn't buy it. Today's spying on good Americans to distroy any of leadership and citizenship is pushing us into the conplient, complacent serfdom so we forget how great our Republic was. At first my eyes fill with tears, then when my eyes burn from it's salt, I become very angry. I just don't know whose A.. to kick. There are so many bad government players to contend with.
