Early in 1981 President Ronald Reagan by Executive Order repealed the Nixon-Ford era price controls on oil which kept the oil cartel's price high. Contrary to the forecasts of many energy experts including some energy company executives, the price of oil and hence the price of energy did not go up - it went down over the next 10 years until President Bush I launched war in Kuwait. After that war and a new President prices drifted back down again until Bush II launched his war in Iraq and Obama,Bush II's successor, continued it and expanded war in Afghanistan. Just as Nixon extended and expanded the war of another President from Texas (Lyndon Johnson) in Southeast Asia so does President Obama continue with the carnage in Iraq and Afghanistan while threatening to expand the war with his threats against Iran.
