I invest exclusively in gold, silver and precious metals miners. I wish I'd started doing that 25 years ago. The US dollar is headed to zero, our government is somewhat "out of control" and we have no leader with vision or cojones. Avoid faith in the looters and political elites ... invest in "hard" assets and watch the suckers get wounded.

Brian- Seems that the Dallas Fed CEO has run his own numbers and come up with a figure of $99,000,000,000,000 which is the \"infinite horizon discounted value\", which I believe is another term for \"We are royally screwed\". http://tinyurl.com/5ceh9b.

Correction--- The government does not engage in Ponzi scheme's. They are called "unfunded mandates". My mistake.

Where is unabashed, hard-nosed journalism when you need it. Seemingly the bulk of mass-media are accomplice's in this on going larceny. Merely take into account the media's coverage of the Madoff scandal. Clever they claim themselves to be in "informing" us of Madoff's Ponzi scheme. They even educate us on who Ponzi (the man) was and show intricate graphs in the shape of a pyramid to illustrate the diabolical manner in which a caper such as Madoff's would be orchestrated. Madoff only soaked his pigeons for a paltry 50B. Why can they not be clever enough to uncover Uncle Sam's 40 trillion dollar (Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare) Ponzi scheme?

It isn't just the (un)federal (no)reserve that is the major problem in our once great Republic. All government agencies are maintaining CAFR funds that are in the trillions of dollars. They are allegedly sequestered for pensions but they are utilized for perks, raises and any other personal desires that the thieves may desire.
The private market-place must insure their pension plans because to maintain sufficient funds would not allow that industry to survive. Why does the public allow such thievery? They don't know and they don't seem to care, however the media never exposes those facts!
