Clever they claim themselves to be in "informing" us of Madoff's Ponzi scheme. They even educate us on who Ponzi (the man) was and show intricate graphs in the shape of a pyramid to illustrate the diabolical manner in which a caper such as Madoff's would be orchestrated. Madoff only soaked his pigeons for a paltry 50B. Why can they not be clever enough to uncover Uncle Sam's 40 trillion dollar (Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare) Ponzi scheme? All government agencies are maintaining CAFR funds that are in the trillions of dollars. They are allegedly sequestered for pensions but they are utilized for perks, raises and any other personal desires that the thieves may desire. The private market-place must insure their pension plans because to maintain sufficient funds would not allow that industry to survive. Why does the public allow such thievery?
