What did Sweden spend on their military last year?

The USSR is part of history and China has taken steps towards free trade. What exactly was Sweden\\\'s contribution to this in troops, arms, and Kroner? They didn\\\'t even have the courtesy to provide some hot cheerleaders. Something Mr. Sachs might want to consider is when you don\\\'t have to dedicate a third of your annual income to protecting half the planet from the other half it is amazing what you can accomplish.

If Mr. Sachs bothered to read The Road To Serfdom, he would have noticed that F.A. Hayek addressed the Sweden issue: “Although one does not like to reminded it was not so many years since the socialist policy of [Germany] was generally held up by progressives as an example to be imitated, just as in more recent years Sweden has been the model country to which progressive eyes were directed.”

This is an excellent article that finally debunks the myth of Swedish socialist superiority.
