Presumably this is some kind of satire. An Austrian criticising a Keynsian for their views on capital theory? Hilarious.

Here's the debate to end it all: Larry Reed and Tom DiLorenzo v. Paul Krugman and Ben Bernanke. Put 2 academic heavyweights on either side against each other, prime time TV, 2 hr, honest American Idol format judging: only 1 vote per email address sent into central debate web site, Federal government agrees to abide by policies proposed by winning side as judged by viewing public.

That's my version of fantasy economics. My bet: Larry Reed alone could eat both of those academic idiots for lunch and expose exactly how flawed their logic is to the average high school graduate in America. Putting DiLorenzo on the team gives it a 1-2 punch with the addition of historical facts about capitalism (see his book on subject), and completes the libertarian views that Larry so clearly articulates. Like Larry, DiLorenzo has an articulate conversational speaking style and the ability to clearly explain difficult ideas to everyday people.

I'll throw down $5000 to make it happen. Who's in?

Those who think war is good for the economy are often the same people who believe hurricanes and earthquakes are good local economies. The problem with people like Paul Krugman is they don't understand opportunity costs.

War is great for the economy! Well for controlling it anyway, just ask Big Brother in Orwell's 1984. In the novel war keeps the factories churning while making nothing to improve the lives of citizens.

This is exactly what I wanted to get off my chest for a very long time. Thanks you sir.

Krugman actually beleives sending people to die and literally blowing up iron and petrol was good for the economy. He is devoid of all rational economic thinking.

Anyone who thinks that war is good for the economy certainly shouldn't be allowed to wield the instruments of power.
