It comes when the Just Say No Drug War is failing miserably, and the worst victims are physicians and psychiatrists. They are being imprisoned and harrassed at such a rate that they refuse to treat people in pain. In some cases, terminal patients who don't find hospice, are told by idiot doctors that they might "get addicted" and die in needless pain. They're certainly not standing up and standing out against this police state. I can only hope that others who share this view and the Libertarian Party who has always purported to back legalization will present a united front. We can harken back to prohibition. No one seems to pay attention to the fact that before the Harrison Act, people could obtain heavy duty medicine at the corner drug store without a prescription, and the data states that we had fewer "addicts" per capita.
