In many developing countries (in Africa especially)pre-colonial tribal/traditional cultures are often misrepresented as having a continued negative impact on the various societies. However, it wrong to caricature these traditional cultures. In fact, the economies of many pre-colonial West African cultures were once representative of the free-market principles in which this article lauds.</description>
