I don't think anybody would argue that transparency is desirable and that the Internet and its various publishers have increased it. But this article is still basically a puerile naive discussion about how to make government Good.

Government is force - the opposite of liberty and prosperity and inherently evil in every way. It can't be made Good.

I'm sure it will come as a disappointment to the Mackinac Center and FEE, but the think tanks, websites, and blogs accomplish nothing. Representative democracy is not even laughably plausible, transparent or not.

Adding more windows won't cure a faulty foundation.

"Transparency," an excellent idea, but how to find the talent to effect our side of the process will be the obstacle.

A Congress that does not read, perhaps is trying to reflect a populace that purportedly does not either. They have been reading too much from the liberal media and believing the spin therein. They have turned their position of keepers of our freedoms into a figurehead position. If Congress only votes their party instead of their oath, the money for their wages would be better spent elsewhere so that we could more rapidly get on with Lincoln's charge that it is our duty to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution. I presume he was not trying to exclude Madam Pelosi from that group.

"What Makes You Think We Read the Bills?"

Ha, that's sounded very funny. We now they do not read the bills. The special interest group lawyers (or lobbyist) write them, and the corrupt politicians just sign them into law. Democracy for the most part is a sham.
