The rigors of scientific discipline demand,inter alia,that testable hypotheses or theories be formulated.Predictions based on the theory are then checked against the facts.If something happens that should not have,or vice versa,the theory is discarded.In recent decades,global cooling occurred during and after a period of increasing CO2 emissions.Ergo AGW theory has been discredited.End of story;game over;theAGWalarmists lose.

I agree that the term “consensus” should not apply to science. From the content of the article I would say it most likely is an unfortunate choice of a word. Fortunately, even many non scientist are now beginning to understand that “consensus” is not important or appropriate when discussing scientific methods.
I am impressed with the far sighted analysis Mr. Bandow achieved.

I am also a skeptic.

However, the author undermines his argument by implying scientific consensus should decide the issue by citing the lack of consensus as disproof of GWT. Consensus neither proves nor disproves a scientific hypothesis. Consensus is about politics, not science.

And this is from 1998. Since then there has been global cooling and no global warming, the ice caps are not melting, the oceans are not rising, and there is not an increase in the frequency of severe storms. Hence, the hysteria about global warming is not based upon evidence. Why would the US government take an official position that is contrary to evidence? Do we have a very serious problem here?
