The biography is entitled "Geneen" by Robert Schoenberg, and it's definitely worth a read.

I read a wonderful book about HSG in the eighties but I can't seem to locate it anywhere. As my corporate hero I want to read it again. I believe it was called simply Harold S Geneen. Can you help?

My dad was hired by Mr. Geneen in the early sixties and stayed with ITT even after Mr. Geneen eventually left ITT. In a way, I feel like I know Mr. Geneen too even though I only met him once and then attended his funeral. Mr. Geneen had those legendary, long meetings, and Dad was was one of his chief lieutenants, the one Mr. Geneen often talked to after the others went home. In turn, Dad taught work ethic and professionalism to me. It is all about character, pursuit of "unshakeable facts", dogged determination, personal accountability, and getting it done--no theories or shortcuts that were not efficiency-driven. That was Mr. Geneen, and that is still my Dad.
