"Now I Am Finally Scared of a White House Administration"

Nat Hentoff, who has valiantly defended civil liberties against all threats, declares, “Now I am finally scared of a White House administration,” in his analysis of the Obama healthcare-takeover plan here. It is well worth reading.

  1. No matter what the Obama Administration says and not matter what language does or does not get into the final legislation it is clear what the government intends to do with older Americans – kill them off as quickly as they can. How will they do this? By denying them medical services which would prolong their life. After all seniors no longer represent a long term income stream compared to those decades younger. This of course violates the very oath that doctors take. But of course doctors were instruments of death in Nazi Germany as well. My wife, Orasa, has a simple rule of life – she only believes what she sees with her own two eyes. It is clear that an institution whose ultimate resolution of all disagreements is at the point of a gun should not be in the healtcare business whose services are for the well being of individuals. What do your two eyes tell you? Can the same government that has sent young men (with long lives ahead of them) to their deaths in the numerous wars of the 20th and 21st Centuries be trusted with saving and prolonging the lives of its senior citizens who no longer have that many years left to live? My two eyes tell me – no.
