Gosh, I Hope Not

I just received a Wall Street Journal email news update reporting that on signing the bill erroneously labeled “stimulus, President Barack Obama said:

I don’t want to pretend that today marks the end of our economic problems. Nor does it constitute all of what we have to do to turn our economy around. But today does mark the beginning of the end.

Sounds ominous.  More ominous is an Obama aide’s statement that a second “stimulus” is not being ruled out.For what it’s worth, the Dow dropped nearly 300 points.

  1. It actually marks the beginning of our economic problems…Oh well…..Shrugg

  2. “But today does mark the beginning of the end.”IMy immediate thought upon seeing the Obamanator utter this piece of Freudian wisdom was “You’re right, pal, but not the end you probably have in mind. The ‘beginning of the end’ you’re referring to is that of the American economy.”As I always ask when I hear such things and witness the events surrounding them: Did this happen in early Fifth Century Rome too?
