Um, hello…there are no fines for not turning in your Census form. All they do is send college students out to collect your information if you don’t turn yours in. You still don’t have to give it when they come to visit. Who on Earth have you been listening to?

The Constitution is sort of like a senile old patriarch who once ruled, then was occasionally trotted out in a wheelchair whenever something needed to be justified, then finally buried quietly and forgotten by both officials and ordinary people. The scary part of that is wondering just what principles the government believes it is following, and how it will turn out for the rest of us.

The ads on T.V. and radio encouraging compliance indicate this is how we citizens get our fair share of government largess. They also indicate by the nature of the questions that the government discriminates in the distribution of the largess by race, sex, age, income, property ownership among other factors.
Now just try to ask the same questions when doing a job interview.
